Who we are
Sage Edge is a trading name of Philip Breen. Philip Breen, trading as Sage Edge, is responsible for the personal data described here (the “controller”).

What we collect and why
When you download a briefing
We record the email address you give, which briefing you downloaded and when. This tells us who reads our briefings and which topics interest them. We don’t add you to a mailing list or send you marketing. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding who is interested in our work. We don’t check that the address is yours, so we record it as entered.
When you email us
We keep your name, email address and what you write, so we can reply and carry on any work that follows. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries or, if we work together, the contract between us.
When you book a call
Calls are booked through Calendly. Calendly collects your name, email address and anything you add to the booking, and shares them with us so we can hold the call. Calendly’s own privacy notice covers its service. The lawful basis is taking steps you have asked for before a possible contract.
Website analytics
We use Umami, running on our own server, to count page visits and clicks on buttons such as “Book a call” and “Download PDF”. It uses no cookies and doesn’t identify you.
Server logs
Our web server records the IP address, page requested, time and browser for each visit, to keep the site secure and working. These logs are deleted after 14 days. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
Cookies and browser storage
This site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. Calendly’s booking pages are run by Calendly and may use their own cookies.
How long we keep it
- Briefing download records: 24 months, then deleted automatically.
- Emails: as long as needed for the enquiry or our work together.
- Server logs: 14 days.
- Deleted records can remain in our server backups for up to 14 days.
Who else handles it
We never sell your data or use it for advertising. These providers handle it on our behalf:
- Hetzner Online GmbH: hosts this website and our database, in Germany.
- Google: provides our email (Google Workspace).
- Calendly: call booking.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on legal safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to or restrict how we use it. Email philipbreen@sageedgeconsultancy.com and we will reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113.
